Because of you, no files were harmed, no data was lost.
I can't believe it lacks this now.Yes, or even a way to trigger the backups from an external scheduler.
That would be big for me.I love all of these ideas, and I think Arq is great software, but I worry that it is just not going to get a major update any time soon... it's just too hard given that it's a one-man shop.Yeah development has been at a snail's pace unfortunately. )I just downloaded Arc 6, hoping the bugs were fixed, but after opening I noticed the feature to choose which Wifi networks and interfaces to use for backup doesn't exist at all in Are 6, as far as I can tell! I need assistance with Arq. Would that be a fair assumption?True differential in what way? Arq 6. The developer has since repaid my purchase, after I emailed the support. Stefan Reitshamer ():. I’ve already complained a lot about the slowness of Arq, so my number one request is, unsurprisingly, a solution to that. Also, I think the time loop that got drawn on the board shows up in the next loop also? I'm curious if it's getting any closer.Personally I would love to see a column view in the file window, and a way of easily seeing previous versions of a file. Thanks, you guys rock! It is easier to find things and to see what the app is currently doing.
Also, Arq seemed to be the best way to preserve Mac meta data correctly, of all backup software.
Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but every time I open Arq I get a warning that the mount directory (in /Volumes) couldn’t be found. This had been annoying me daily for about 10 years. The rate limiting is more flexible and can be set per-backup.The retention rules are now customizable (and per-backup).It can warn you if there hasn’t been a backup in a while. You can restore without having to first download large amounts of metadata, which was previously necessary when restoring from another Mac’s backup or if Arq’s cache had been deleted or lost.Lots of operations are apparently faster or more efficient, although I haven’t had a chance to experience this yet.The user interface has been completely redone. Right-clicking a destination or folder on the sidebar should offer a “Back up now” option, for example.I'd be super ticked off if the slowness fixes were a paid upgrade -- that would be a big middle finger to current customers.Interesting you mention filesystem monitoring.
I was just about to download the trial version of Arq, but your comment kind of puts me off. Instead of "Back up every X number of hours", the option to say "Back up every Thursday at 4:15am" would be great. But I also don't think this is a reason to abandon Arq, or go back to something like Time Machine.
card.
There’s no rush.Unfortunately quite a few people experienced problems with importing Arq 5 settings and data.I sincerely apologize for that. Ray has been certified crazy!
hot new top rising. They are potentially generating infinite parallel universes that last until the end of time with each reset, regardless of whether they themselves are confined to a matter of hours.New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castPress J to jump to the feed. Then it stopped as if it was finished (with 180 errors of which I have no indication if they where minor or major), but every time a new hourly backup was initiated it was immediately aborted because ”Import in progress; backup aborted.” So I waited another day but nothing was being backed up.
How could testing not reveal any of the import errors and brokens snapshots that almost everyone seems to have? Bernardo_V. That is a crucial feature -- I don't want to be backing up over my cell phone connection.
Arq 6 can't currently reuse backup data or settings created by Arq 5. April 13, 2020, 6:22pm #1. Also loop starts when brother gets shocked, later he gets saved, and later doesn't seem to get shocked at all? Even if they managed to fix the bugs, this seems to me to be a major loss of functionality.Arq 5 was quite reliable -- I have no clue what happened with Are 6, did they fire all the original engineers and start over from scratch? Stay up to date with the latest Arqma (ARQ) candlestick charts for 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and all time candlestick charts.
