Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. They seem to be of good quality and I think once I get the hang of cutting hair they will work very well. The one I received was not. I am happy with this product, trusted brand, good quality material and all that BUT little disappointing because the trimmer shakes when you use it, not sure if its supposed to be like that or not but the old one did not shake like this.
