The OVA Beach Friendlies are a series of exhibition events that the OVA will be offering as we return to the sport of beach volleyball in communities that have entered Stage 3 of Ontario’s Re-Opening plan. Beach Friendlies are offered in the 13U, 14U, 16U and Youth Open (20U) age divisions for boys and girls; however, athletes can play up in their next age division if their true age is not listed.
An email with details about the event and a link to the contact tracing info and screening questionnaire will be sent the athletes. For all other requests, a team will be able to transfer the registration fee to an event later in the summer.Athletes are encouraged to only participate in one division at our events and at only one location across the province.Contact tracing information will be available to complete as of 12:01AM the day of the event. Side switches will take place between sets.In an effort to limit gathering sizes at these events, no coaching will be allowed. OVA Beach Tour. Competitions take place in communities across Ontario. All teams will be randomly assigned to a pool of 3 or 4. Matches will also be self-refereed and teams are required to keep their own scores during play; no scoreboards will be provided.
Pools of 4 will play 3 matches, 2 sets each to 21 points or 35 minute rounds, whichever comes first. A 2 -on-2 competitive format for male and females in 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 18U, Youth Open (20U), Adult Open & Elite. The OVA is continuing the Beach Friendlies series into September with the addition of three weekend dates: The events will be offered at the Barrie, London and Pickering locations in both AM and PM waves.Beach Friendlies are offered in the 13U, 14U, 16U and Youth Open (20U) age divisions for boys and girls; however, athletes can play up in their next age division if their true age is not listed.To register for OVA Beach Friendlies and for information pertaining to this series' regulations and protocols, All age-specific rules will still apply for all matches 16U or lower:Refunds will only be granted in the case of an injury and will include a $10 administration fee.
