In particular, I'm haunted by Levi's description of what it was like to be an Italian-speaking boy at Auschwitz. It's hard to watch some scenes, like when Janny is talking about the bodies she had to dispose of and makes you wonder how people like her, Eva schloss, Ruth minsky sender, and Livia bitton Jackson could live with those memories. Well worth it, and an absolute must if you are something of a Francophile!
